Note from Al: Sorry about the double post and any lost comments, I have no idea what happened or why it ended up hidden. Though Firefox crashing in the middle of writing the post may have had something to do with it! Personally, I blame those damned Twins.

Items of interest from the press notes and game preview:
Magglio Ordonez is licking his chops in anticipation of facing Baker, as he has a career .452 BA against the Twins starter.
Johnny Damon has reached base in 17 consecutive games, has a 14 game hitting streak and is batting .400 during the stretch.
Tigers relievers are 2nd overall in the AL in both wins, with 7, and ERA, currently at a sparkling 2.48 ERA.
As a team, the Tigers are 2nd in the AL in batting average, hits, doubles and walks, and 6th in runs scored.
Detroit has alternated wins with losses in its last six games. Just like a .500 team!
The Tigers held Joe Mauer to his first 0-5 game since 8/1/09. I'd be thrilled if the Tigers could make it 0-10. Giddy, even!
The Twins lead the the majors with 103 base on balls. Let's hope Scherzer is throwing strikes!
As good as the Tigers' pen has been, the Twins' relievers have performed even better, ranking 2nd overall in all of baseball with a 2.33 ERA. Sounds like another low scoring game in on tap, gang.
I'll end with a combination of good and bad news. The good news is those of you not living in the great state of Michigan or are without one of the MLB broadcast packages can see the game. The bad news is the game is being broadcast on ESPN, where the Tigers rarely, if ever, play well.
